Hello, world.

Ah, the blank page.

It’s nice to be here, at the start of a new thing. I’m obviously not at the second draft point of this post yet, but I know when I get there, I’ll wish I could jump into the future where the Department of Second Drafts is fully featured and ready for me to use in my editing process. That’s the point—we are creating the tools we wish existed.

We are two creatives who work as software engineers and collectively have backgrounds in writing, music, publishing, stage, dance, and visual arts. We have grand plans for the Department. We’re starting simple by offering a few free tools while we build out bigger features. Eventually we plan to provide a comprehensive workstation where all kinds of storytellers can do all of their writing and editing work.

Check back often, as we are in active development and things around here will be changing quickly. We’re excited to grow.
